Kimberly Lenz, PharmD, MBA, FAMCP is the Chief Pharmacy Officer for MassHealth in the Office of Clinical Affairs. In this role, she serves the Massachusetts Medicaid program in overseeing the pharmacy benefit. As a leader in the Office of Clinical Affairs she oversees all clinical and operational components of the Medicaid Pharmacy benefit. She is responsible for the oversight of direct negotiations, value-based contracting, and unified formulary activities for MassHealth, representing over two million members. Her clinical areas of focus include appropriate opioid prescribing, substance use disorder, transitions of care, and a multidisciplinary approach to complex disease states.
Dr. Lenz is a member of the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review's New England Comparative Effectiveness Public Advisory Council. She is also active in the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy-serving or chairing several committees. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut, completed a residency at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, obtained her MBA at the University of Massachusetts and is a fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy. She is also an Assistant Professor in Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School.
