Catherine E. Cooke is a board-certified pharmacist with a master’s degree in pharmaceutical health services research. As a Research Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, her work focuses on safe and effective medication use in outpatient settings. As part of the Mental Health Program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, she works on the Antipsychotic Prescription Review Program (APRP). APRP provides a retrospective analysis of antipsychotic prescribing data and uses the data to promote more evidence-based and cost-effective prescribing in the state of Maryland Medicaid program. Dr. Cooke has also collaborated with the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to review the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) for specific psychiatric medications.
