Mercer Government Human Services Consulting: Specialty Consulting Sector
Bethany is a senior associate and pharmacy consultant in Mercer's Government Human Services Consulting group. Bethany has experience in Medicaid and long-term care and assists Mercer's Medicaid clients with the management of pharmacy benefits. As a licensed pharmacist, Bethany’s work experience includes pharmacy benefit management positions serving government claims processing. Prior to joining Mercer in February 2020, Bethany served as a consultant for the Oklahoma Health Care Authority for 8 years. During this time, Bethany served as the Clinical Coordinator of the Oklahoma pharmacy program, which included supporting Oklahoma Medicaid in its administration of pharmacy benefits to Oklahoma SoonerCare members and its efforts to meet federal requirements related to drug utilization review. Bethany was involved with pharmacy benefit design and development and implementation of Medicaid policies including data analytics, clinical rebate support, and developing value-based purchasing arrangements with manufacturers. Prior to that, Bethany worked as a long-term care clinical pharmacist. Since joining Mercer, Bethany has worked on rate setting and is involved in monitoring of high-cost medications and pipeline tracking. She was honored to receive the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy Outstanding Young Alumni award and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Drug Utilization Review Society where she severed as Chairman of the Poster Committee, and Pharmacy Quality Alliance where she serves on a measure update panel to encourage the quality of medication management across healthcare systems.
